Your journal is stored on your device
DearAnxiety stores your cats, written entries, check-ins, photos, and voice notes locally on your device. The app has no advertising, usage analytics service, or third-party tracking.
Permissions
The iOS photo picker lets you select individual photos without giving DearAnxiety access to your whole photo library. Microphone access is requested only when you choose to record a voice note. You can decline microphone access and keep using the rest of the app.
Free access
Every feature is free. The app has no subscription, in-app purchase, advertising, usage analytics service, or third-party tracking.
Protection and backups
DearAnxiety applies complete iOS file protection to its local data and managed attachments. Your journal can be included in the encrypted device backups you enable through Apple. DearAnxiety does not automatically sync your journal between devices.
Your choices
Settings lets you export a local copy of your data or permanently delete all local anxiety data and managed attachments.
Support and feedback forms
Contact Support, Send Feedback, Request a Feature, and Report a Bug open a form inside DearAnxiety. The app does not attach or send your cats, entries, check-ins, photos, or voice notes. If you submit an in-app form, it sends only the message you type, the request type, the app version, and the iOS version. It does not ask for or send your email address. Kunwoo Yoon uses submitted feedback to respond, fix problems, and improve DearAnxiety. This review of submitted feedback is the analytics purpose disclosed in the App Store privacy details.
The separate support website can collect a reply email if you choose to enter one. Support submissions are delivered through Google Cloud, Microsoft 365, and Google email services. They are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, maintain support records, or meet legal obligations. The website and its hosting providers may process standard connection information for security and delivery. The support site has no advertising or usage analytics.
To ask for a support submission to be deleted, use the support form and include enough information to identify the earlier message.
